Day 1 –Arrival at Kigali Airport and Transfer to Volcanoes National park

Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by our Discover Virunga Ltd safari guide at the Airport and transfer you to Volcanoes National park of the world’s rare mountain Gorillas. Enjoying the most beautiful scenery of Rwanda.

 Day 2 – Gorilla tracking at Volcanoes National Park

After morning breakfast, you will set off to the park headquarters with your well packed lunch. You will meet rangers who will brief about the dos and donts while doing Gorilla Tracking. You will then follow the Gorilla trails with your ranger and start the Gorilla tracking activity. Once you have reached the Gorillas, you will have the best moment taking pictures and videos to fill your memories on such time rewarding moments. You will return to your accommodation for dinner.

 Day 3 – Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park

After an early morning breakfast, drive to nyungwe national park with lunch enroute. Nyungwe forest is the oldest and largest rainforest in East Africa.you will arrive at the lodge late in the afternoon.

 Day 4 – Chimpanzee Tracking and Afternoon Canopy Walk

Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing and thereafter enter the forest in search of the active playful primates. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will return to the lodge for lunch and later depart for canopy walk. You will return to the lodge before the night falls.

Day 5 – Transfer to Kigali

You will start this day with an early morning breakfast and preparations for a transfer back to Kigali.. You will then be transferred by your guide will to the airport for your outbound flight.

• Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits per person as specified in the itinerary. 
  • Gorilla & Chimpanzee tracking is subject to availability of permits, which are limited to 8 per gorilla group per day and 6 per chimpanzee track per ½ day.
  • Any Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.  
  • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits cannot be held with the Uganda Wildlife Authority in advance of payment and Rwanda Development Board – they are only secured once physically paid for.
  • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • There is a minimum age limit for gorilla tracking which is strictly 15 years.

• International flights and applicable airport departure taxes 
• All passport and visa fees (Visa: US$ 50 per person for entry into Uganda – easily obtainable at the Airport) 
• Meals not specified (including lunch and other meal stops between properties on overland sectors)
• Drinks where not stipulated in itinerary
• Items of a personal nature: fax, telephone, etc. 
• Laundry in Entebbe/Kampala 
• Gratuities for guide/driver/hotel staff 
• Any extras and additional activities not mentioned in the itinerary 
• Travel/medical insurance
• Trip cancellation, travel delay or baggage insurance. 
• Charges incurred as a result of delays beyond our control. 
• All statutory increases beyond our control.

Safari Price;

We try to make our prices as all-inclusive as possible so that our clients do not need to reach for their wallets. Where there are overland sectors, the 4×4 Safari Vehicles and safari guide will be at the clients’ exclusive use which provides great flexibility. The guide will accompany clients on all overland sectors, assist with check-in at accommodation and share his knowledge on the flora and fauna of East Africa.
